This work-readiness program is designed to assist new Canadians with language levels CLB 3-5, to access and re-enter the Canadian workforce. 


Program Activities:

  • Workplace Literacy and Public Speaking Sessions
  • Hard/Technical Skills: Food Safe, First Aid/CPR, WHIMS
  • Work/Life Skills Workshops: Cover letter, resume, job search techniques
  • Career Action Planning
  • 6 week unpaid mandatory work placement



  • Ages 18+
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Must have lived in Saskatchewan for less than 5 years
  • Must be actively seeking employment in entry level positions
  • Must attend an Information Session prior to being accepted in the program
  • Language Proficiency: CLB 3 (achieved) in each skill area (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing)

  • Program Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am-3:30pm
  • Location: IWS Main Office, 301-336 5th Avenue North
  • Intake Times: August, November, March
